A Christmas Wreath making workshop with Anna Reddings

In the bustlingly busy days of early December, a festive moment was caught in a cowshed.

Jostling for attention, as my head was turned by all the lovely local Christmas Fairs on offer, a wreath making workshop with Anna of Tales from Appletree House.

I am so glad we made this happen, it was a truly heartwarming time shared between family and friends. Even better still, so happy that Julia aka Humphrey & Grace was there to capture it all on camera, I hope you enjoy her beautiful story telling photographs. I managed to add some Christmas flourishes to the Cowshed just in time to host…

Anna filled the cowshed with the most gorgeous fresh, floral ingredients. The smell of pine, eucalyptus and indiscriminate notes from a myriad of buds, berries and petals spiced the air. I could have bust into a chorus of *“Wouldn’t it be loverly…” But, before I launched, my breath was stolen by arm fulls of heavenly dried seedpods, flower heads, branches and lichen as they bobbed their way in to join us.

We mossed, we snipped, we wired, we giggled, we marvelled and finally, we velvet ribboned. Hanging our repsective wreaths on butchers hooks from the rafter beams to admire them all. Anna is a genuinely lovely tutor, so full of knowledge, gently guiding us with suggestions of the most beautiful botanical marriages.

Outside it was wintry, Horace the Morris stood sentry by the field gate and was suitably bedecked for the occasion.

Ta Da! Here are the finished wreaths, or welcome rings as they were once known… not as catchy? For more information about Anna’s seasonal workshops and to see her inspirational work head over to Tales From Apple Tree House

If you are looking for a Cowshed to host a workshop of your own or create some beautiful pictures do let me know…

Huge thanks to Julia Smith for quietly freezing whilst taking these lovely shots and Mary Ann from The Crow Kitchen for the amazing brownies that sustained us.
